"This new chamber music record, released by Hänssler Classic, is especially valuable.
The three musicians of the Quantum Clarinet Trio – Elena Veronesi on clarinet, Johannes Przygodda on cello and Bokyung Kim on piano – form an exemplary trio. The exceptionally beautiful and sensitive clarinet tone of Elena Veronesi and the warm, always elegant cello of Przygodda blend with the ever-present but also sensitive piano playing of Bokying Kim to create a very high degree of balance and homogeneity.
The great breath of both the trio by Carl Frühling (1968-1937) and that of Johannes Brahms is therefore very well expressed. Radiance and tension are maintained from the first to the last note. The accents are carefully set and graduated, the tempi are mastered, the tonal weights carefully balanced. And again and again the unity of interpretation surprises, which is the be-all and end-all of these recordings.
Between the two trios is the Serenade op. 73 by Robert Kahn, clearly enhanced by a finely differentiated and very spontaneous interpretation."
