"The recording alone prevents a real street atmosphere from arising."

Norbert Tischer, pizzicato

"The Venetian baritone Daniel Di Prinzio and the guitarist Ihor Kordiuk present a selection of typical and traditional Neapolitan songs, each preceded by pieces from Mauro Giuliani’s guitar solo cycle ‘Selection of my favorite flowers’, a bit like the promenades in Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

The truly original feature of the album, however, is the guitar accompaniment, which, compared to orchestral or the piano accompaniment, creates a much more intimate and authentic atmosphere. The recording alone prevents a real street atmosphere from arising.

Daniel Di Prinzio sings with a flexible voice and a good feel for the lyrics and the content of the songs. He doesn’t turn them into arias and allows the songs to retain their natural character. Ihor Kordiuk supports him with inspired guitar playing."
